The Inoue Brothers - Copenhagen

We were both born and raised in Copenhagen and, after traveling through most of the world, we still have a soft spot for this capital. It’s a city with plenty of the urban vibe, but also very livable: lots of trees and green areas give space for breathing during a hectic everyday life.

The greatest feature here is definitely the infrastructure designed for bicycling. Bicycles are a dominant feature in city life and reminds us to be environmentally aware and taking good care of our health. The Copenhagen mentality is unique compared to rest of the country and reflects the multi-ethnicity of Danish reality. We wish that more of this Copenhagen mentality would be reflected in the politics—and the public opinion of the country as a whole.

About

Founded in 2004 by Japanese brothers Satoru and Kiyoshi, both born and raised in Copenhagen, the Inoue Brothers is a design-art studio stemmed from a common love for what they term as “Scandinasia”—a combination of both cultures.

The duo offers solutions for a vast variety of anything falling under the umbrella of art: photography, graphic design, fashion, interior design, web, hair and makeup. With the goal of manifesting the true creative potential of their team and network of skillful creators and designers, the brothers constantly challenge themselves with an unwavering openness and passion—and an aversion to idle chatter. As such, the Inoue Brothers motto is “Talk is Cheap.”

In 2006, the company opened their own store and hair salon: Environment in the West End of London together with partner Anthony Keast. Since then, the Inoue Brothers operate both in London and Copenhagen. Their long roster of clients include Commes des Garçons, The Danish Broadcast Corporation, MTV, Wood Wood, Kontrapunkt, KILO Design, Style Tokyo, Vidal Sassoon, The Vibezone, Royal Copenhagen, Lars von Trier and Virgin Records.
