Tomas Barfod - Copenhagen

Why should anybody like Copenhagen? It’s not as extreme as Berlin, not as rich and nice as Stockholm, not as exciting as London. I’ve lived here for the past 15 years and in this time I’ve traveled a minimum of 50 days a year or so—for the last four years. I basically tested all of the important European cities several times over. Even Skt Petersborg, Warsaw and Bergen!

And what I learned was that even though the rest of the world is exciting, Copenhagen always make a comforting home. And it always works.

    Welcome to the dark side

You always wanna go here after 5am, because that’s when the freaks come out and the party starts. I only made it a couple of times because I’m usually either too busy or tired for the long after party sessions, but no matter what, Dunkel is the closest you get to a good after hours club in Copenhagen.

Everytime I’m in the inner city’s “Latin quarter”, I always try to squeeze in a lunch at Atlas. It’s superb, genuine and solid food.

This is traditional Danish food with love and edge. I used to spend close to 1000 kroners a week on smørrebrød here, back when I lived close by.

    Legends never die

Maybe it’s too easy to mention Vega (because it’s the most famous club in Cph). However even though everybody is always complaining about this place, this night club have been running for nearly 10 years, and is still the place for some of the finest nights in Copenhagen.
