<description_plain>Since opening in 1783, Byens Kro has been an integral part of Copenhagen’s nightlife. Located in the center of town in a pleasant, unpretentious setting, the old bodega has served quality beer to nearly every brew-loving Copenhagener though the modern age.

Nowadays the bodega is a meeting place for artists, upcoming writers and creative types. Famous for its 11 draft beer pipes, ranging from the Italian Birra Menabrea the the San Francisco brewery Anchor Steam, the bodega also has its own special brew called Byens Øl (Byens' Beer), made by the small Danish brewery, Svanneke Bryghus.

The walls of the bodega are frequently filled with student work from the nearby Royal Danish Art Academy and often the work is for sale. Always at reasonable prices, this is prime stomping ground for art scouts—the works on the wall may just be the next big thing.</description_plain>
