The Danish National Photography Museum is located in the bowels of the Royal Danish Library, otherwise known as the Black Diamond. Its collection covers the entire lifespan of photography, from 1839 to the present, and includes both Danish and international work from all genres of photography; from reportage to contemporary photo and video art. Notable photographers in the collection include Henri Cartier-Bresson, Richard Avedon, Martin Parr, Nan Goldin and Tracey Moffatt.

Drawing from this vast collection of 50,000 images, the museum hosts a number of exhibitions throughout the year. The exhibition space also occasionally plays host to traveling exhibitions from international photographers such as Sally Mann, whose show of old and new work was met with widespread acclaim.Quote_transparent
