Cinemateket is home to the Danish Film Institute and is the premiere place in Denmark to watch-hard-to-find art movies or attend master classes with international filmmakers.
The forum plays films by theme, like the works of John Huston, James Stewart or some obscure Polish filmmaker from the 20th century familiar to only two people (now, after you, three)—as well as a general focus on Danish films. And if you can’t get enough of film fever, peruse the building’s decent shop—offering rare DVDs, film posters, and books—or grab a snack at the restaurant Sult (Hunger), named after Henning Carlsen’s 1966 film. Additionally, concert movie nights take place one night per month, followed up by—what else?—DJing and drinks.
