Culture Box’s battered unpolished walls and dreary dark decor might not look like much, but the club has been at the forefront of Copenhagen’s club scene since it opened up in the early 2000s by two passionate, electronica-driven DJs.

The two-story club features headlining acts in the mainroom and a bar and lounge on the upper floor, while the crowd varies depending on which promoter is hosting the night. Regardless, the unifying aspect of the venue remains the love of electronic music. Makes sense, then, that they would boast one of the best sound systems in the city and a world-class lineup: Ellen Allien, Richie Hawtin, Ricardo Villalobos, Luciano and Juan Atkins have all graced the decks here.
